Wolf is Real America Wake-Up

Wolf "Once upon a time the U.S. secretary of state went to the UN Security Council and cried, "Wolf!" He said that the evil Saddam Hussein had been building weapons of mass destruction and posed an immediate threat to the United States and the world. Over 1,000 American deaths later, there are no WMDs to be found. There was also a president who made a State of the Union address in 2003 and cried, "Wolf!" He said that the evil Saddam Hussein was getting uranium from Africa to build weapons of mass destruction. He called on the American people to be prepared to fight a war against terrorism by invading Iraq. Claims about yellow cake in Niger destined for Baghdad were exposed as phony early on. But still the United States invaded Iraq. More than 12,000 Iraqis have been killed. The United States cried wolf, and the world shuddered and watched as the most powerful country threw its weight around and took over Iraq and all of its resources, including its future. There were no weapons of mass destruction, but there was oil and the possibility of redrawing the map of the Middle East to suit the narrow interests of the few. The few who cried wolf in the name of the American republic. The world wondered if it could ever believe the United States again. Then the U.S. Congress, in a rare and historic bipartisan and unanimous action, declared that something is taking place in Sudan. Once upon a time, Washington could have exercised its clout as the most powerful nation in the world and handily won over the support of members. But now, the country that cried wolf has lost the moral authority it needs to rally its neighbors to real action. It will be the cruelest irony and the greatest tragedy if the people cannot count on America to save them, a country that lost its credibility because it cried wolf. War in Iraq has now claims another 50,000 victims. And the toll is to rise even more, in the weeks ahead. In the tale of the boy who cried wolf, it was the boy himself who suffered the consequences of his actions. This time it's two million dead people, and everyone that believed what the Wolf told them and did what he told them to do."

I thought this was some really heavy thought to put out, but I also felt it was something I felt strong about and wanted to post. It is a wake-up call for all Americans.......May God Forgive us!

Families living in Section 8 housing will now pay more

Times; "Single mother of two is saving up to buy a car. Section 8 housing has helped put a roof over her two children's heads. Which has lifted a huge burden off her shoulders, she said. Her daughter has asthma and allergies and the family's energy bill runs about $200 a month. She's trying to get on her feet, but now she worries major cuts to U.S. Housing and Urban Development funding will knock her down hard. HUD will now offer only, a set amount of money per family. She worried about costs going up for her family. "I get no help from anybody. It's just me and them," she said. Another change could affect the size of families' apartments. Before, separate bedrooms for children of opposite genders were required at "school age." A single parent with a baby or only one child under 8 years, would live in a one-bedroom home. A family with two parents,and two children would live in a two-bedroom,three and up children a, four-bedroom. If only one parent, would reduce size of bedrooms. Subsidy for a two-bedroom is less than that for a three-bedroom and raising the age would save several thousand dollars a month. Also if you are working you will be moved ahead to the top of the list, where as, to someone who is not working. To help cut the cost on the Goverments part for rental assit. This single mother, thinks another solution to the problem would be to make sure everyone who benefits from Section 8 housing actually needs it. She believes too much money goes to people who really don't need the help. "I'm basically doing it all by myself," she said."

This is again a story on how bad things are in America right now!! And to make matters worse the Goverment is now cutting how many housing/assit-vouchers, they are giving out and also reducing how much money per- a household for help.

Positive 'killer bee' traits found

Times;"North Texans need to take precautions against Africanized honeybees, officials said. The bees had Africanized traits, but not enough to warrant quarantine, officials said. But "killer bees""Africanized bees in Texas, they move 12 months out of the year," Paul Jackson, chief apiary inspector for the Texas Honeybee Identification Laboratory in College Station, Texas, said. Insect experts collected the Clay County bees after an elderly man was stung repeatedly Sept. 1 at his rural home. 74-year-old retired rancher, spent a night in a hospital. Workers pulled more than 200 stingers out of his head and neck. A local bee expert has warned that he's seeing more aggressive bees. "There are some very dangerous bees. Treat every swarm as if they are aggressive until you have proven them to be gentle." Watson gets 10 to 30 calls daily for swarms, and he's finding more aggressive bees than gentle ones, he wrote. He cautioned anyone who finds bees to call the police immediately and give them the location of the hive - then leave them alone. Africanized honeybees favor holes in the ground, water meters, the inside of walls, eaves and undersides of mobile homes. He advised being especially careful in these situations: Hunters should check deer blinds for bees before they enter. Homeowner sees bees flying around, he should be cautious. If he sees a nest under the home, he should call an exterminator. Even a small swarm the size of a softball - and Africanized bees split into new nests year-round- calls for action. It will grow to thousands unless it's removed. If you're attacked by bees, run away or seek shelter in a building or car, experts said. Earlier this month, Clay County Extension Agent Kyle Miller sent bees from the nest that stung Whitaker to the honeybee I.D. lab for testing. The results showed they were Level 2 European/Africanized honeybees with some Africanized traits. Here are the levels: Level 1 - European honeybees -Level 2 - European/Africanized honeybees with some Africanized traits -Level 3 - Africanized/European honeybees -Level 4 - Africanized honeybees. So far, 154 Texas counties are under quarantine, according to Texas A&M University. Bees have to be tested before bookkeeper's can move them from a county under quarantine. Africanized honeybees have been moving north from South America since the 1950s."

This is not a good thing! We all have been hearing about Killer Bee's for years and now, people a dying form them. I am sacred to death of any-kind of stinging bug, as they seem to always get me no matter what I do to give them space. Police Knew Killer in Columbine Massacre

NBC-6;"A grand jury report is shedding new light about what Colorado authorities knew before the Columbine High School massacre. According to a grand jury document, deputies knew one of the killers had been accused two years earlier of making death threats and building pipe bombs. The grand jury also said it was "troubled" by still-missing documents in what remains the deadliest school attack in U-S history. Still, it did not hand up any indictments. It closed at least the third investigation that has elected not to place any blame for the slaughter of 13 people by Harris and Dylan Klebold. The two teens also killed themselves. Victims' families say the report confirms their suspicions that the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office covered up mistakes that could have led authorities to the killers."

This is really a sad thing to find out now, for the poor families that now have to live thru this all over again! Why do people hide things like this? They have to know it will always come out...Sooner or later...

Teen Claims She Found Roach in Parfait

Texas -A teenager says she found a partially smoked, quarter-inch long marijuana cigarette in her frozen yogurt parfait at a McDonald's. Returning home from a weeklong vacation, when they stopped for breakfast, San Benito police report, only two McDonald's employees made parfaits that morning. Restaurant management told police the employees take drug tests. Police took the used marijuana cigarette as evidence. No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made."

John Kerrys - Wife said let them go Naked send essentials

Kerry has aggressively hit Bush over the fact that reservists and National Guard members make up about 75,560 of about 150,000 US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, referring to their deployment as a 'back-door draft" to support overstretched Army, Marine, and other units. Kerry also sought yesterday to stir up ongoing voter concern about Iraq yesterday by linking Vice President Dick Cheney's deferred compensation from Halliburton to a series of Pentagon audits that found about $1.8 billion in unaccounted-for Halliburton expenses in Iraq and Kuwait. She said she discussed it with him two or three times and recognized that it was inappropriate. Olson began to cry when King County Public Defender testified that the incident between Olson and Burns "trashed" the reputation of all public defenders. Then Harper, too, began to cry. Harper said she feels strongly about the public defense system and its constitutional importance, and that the incident between Olson and Burns especially hurt the reputation of female public defenders. She said other inmates began referring to the jail visiting room as a hotel. Olson is expected to resume testifying today, when her attorney, David Allen, will question her. Man Linked to Bush Memos

Bush Memos;"A retired Texas National Guard official mentioned as a possible source for disputed documents about President Bush's service in the Guard said he passed along information to a former senator working with John Kerry's campaign. Also, a White House official said Saturday that Bush has reviewed disputed documents that purport to show he refused orders to take a physical examination in 1972 and did not recall having seen them previously. The long-running story on Bush's Texas Air National Guard service took an unusual twist when CBS broadcast a report on what it said were the newly discovered records. The retired Guard official, Bill Burkett, said in e-mail to a list of Texas Democrats that after getting through "seven layers of bureaucratic kids" in the Democrat's campaign, he talked about information that would counter criticism of Kerry's Vietnam War service. "I asked if they wanted to counterattack or ride this to ground and outlast it, not spending any money. Said counterattack. So I gave them the information to do it with," Burkett wrote. In the telephone interview Bush replied "I don't know" to a question whether the White House had evidence that involved in releasing the disputed papers. "The Kerry campaign had absolutely nothing to do with these documents, no ifs, ands or buts," spokesman David Wade said. "Jim Dyke inhabits the fantasy world of spin where George Bush pretends we haven't lost millions of jobs and everything in Iraq is coming up roses. He'd be better served getting answers from the president, not hurling baseless attacks." Burkett's lawyer, David Van Os, a Democratic candidate for the Texas Supreme Court, issued a statement this week saying Burkett "no longer trusts any possible outcome of speaking to the press on any issue regarding George W. Bush." Allegedly written by one of Bush's former commanders that indicated the future president ignored an order to take a physical. Late Lt. Col. Cremated Man's Ashes Crash Through Roof

sfgate;"Forest Grove, Ore. - An unwelcome guest recently crashed into Ms. Vreeland's home: the cremated remains of a Washington man. The 46-year-old man died of natural causes in June. He wanted to be cremated and have his ashes scattered over Mountain View Memorial Gardens, a cemetery near Vreeland's home, Forest Grove police Capt. Said. Family members told police the bag of ashes slipped as they were circling the cemetery in a small plane they had hired for the day. The 4-pound bag crashed through Vreeland's roof and landed in the attic. "It really rattled our place," said Vreeland, who was at her kitchen sink when the ashes hit the roof. "It wasn't a little bump -- it shook the house." Vreeland's roof is being fixed and the man's family is paying for the damage. "I understand the man wanted to be with his (deceased) relatives," Vreeland said. "I feel for those people. But I think some of their relative is still in our attic."

Teacher Lops Off Part Of Student's Ear

sfgate;" Bangkok,Thailand -- A teacher enforcing school regulations on haircuts snipped one girl's locks to ear's length Thursday but ended up lopping off a chunk of her ear as well, police said. A teacher at Wat Dan Prachakorn school in southern Chumpon province, had been inspecting students after their morning assembly to ensure their hair was regulation length, said police Capt. "He was going to cut the hair of this girl who had a haircut that was against school regulations. Her hair was against her ear, and he just cut without being careful," He did not know how much of 15-year-old young girls earlobe was cut off. But a report on the Kom Chad Luek newspaper Web site quoted plastic surgeon Dr. Wiboon Thongduang as saying that half of the earlobe was severed, and could not be reattached because the girl did not get proper medical attention quickly enough. The father reported the incident to police, but no charges have been filed against the teacher, who along with the victim was to be questioned Friday, Police said."

I can not believe what I read!!! I'll tell you what...If that would of been me I would not of cared if I went to prison or not. I would of cut off both of his ears and cut off his male member too. RENTAL HELP

NBC-6;"Can you imagine living and sleeping in your car? It happens more than you might think. Many people struggle financially living paycheck to paycheck, but they also have a difficult time finding affordable housing. Many people struggle financially every month living paycheck to paycheck. Finding affordable housing is a problem that seems to be rising. Housing and Finance Association offer the federal Section 8 (tenant-based) Rental Assistance program. IHFA director says the program is provides a housing choice voucher to qualified renters. "We get funding through HUD to subsidize the rent of low-income families." The household in need pays 30% of income toward rent and the balance is paid by program. 40-50 people come in a week looking for assistance. "Waiting list is growing; a year ago our wait was about 12 months now it's 22 to 24 months, a real need for help." Another program offered under Section 8 is project-based assistance. It works similar to tenant-based, but the subsidy is tied to a specific rental complex. It is unbelievable how many people need help. "We see people living in there cars; young mothers that need a place to go."

I had to post this when I saw it because. Yesterday I was in a counseling office talking to someone about something to do with my-work and, we ended up chatting about housing for some reason don't remember why. But he was telling me that he had tried to get one of their clients on the housing list just here in Pocatello Idaho, and the sign-up list was CLOSED!! Closed that's really stupid!!, he claims that they said it was a waste of everyone's time to even take app. For housing when the list is already looking at, year-2006 before you would even get to the waiting list to be able to get a voucher to get (low-income housing). So why waste peoples time,blew me away to hear this...My boy-friend is on the Fair-Housing Board here in town and I talked with him about this awhile back and he told me then that the had a government cut on housing Vouchers. I believe he said in the figure of 800 less!!! I tell you somebody better Pull their heads out out their butts!! Real soon up their on Capital Hill, and find some more money I don't care what it takes. Or start making these Land-Lords stop jacking up their rent prices-quote- From a rental angency here in town; " we keep our prices higher on our nicer places to keep out the low-lives ( which means poor) And we also can rent a 3-4 Bedroom house to a bunch of collage kids and charge them triple + deposits each and make more money, for us and the owner of the house. She said its nothing personal. Just- that, they are in the field to make money not rent housing only. But that too, the provide a service to the owners of the rentals for a fee!!...Plus the get to pocket the deposits on all the rentals if they don't give it back.......Maybe I should become a slum lord too!! And not a human....Don't thinks so, its not in me to be selfish to that point.

Bush And Kerry Not Invited Dinner

NBC-6;"The potential for a food fight was apparently too high. Neither George Bush or John Kerry will be invited to this year's Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner. Its sponsor, the Archdiocese of New York says campaign issues could detract from the traditionally lighthearted affair. The annual dinner, this year less than two week before the election, will instead have former President Bush and former Democratic New York Governor Hugh Carey speak. Alfred Smith was a Democratic New York governor who died in 1944. He's best remembered for being the first Catholic to run as a major party's presidential candidate. He lost the 1928 race to Herbert Hoover."

CONJOINED TWIN COMPLICATIONS

NBC-6; "Doctors say they "had to go into emergency mode" during surgery to separate twins joined at the head when one girl developed an irregular heartbeat and low blood pressure. The lead surgeon says the Baltimore medical team was about three-quarters through the long operation when the one child's condition deteriorated. The twin with the complications died shortly after the operation. Johns Hopkins Children's Center doctors say the other is in critical but stable condition. The lead surgeon says it's too soon to say if the surviving one-year-old German girl has any brain damage. But he says barring any serious complications, the girl will grow up to "lead a normal, independent life."

This is so sad.. Because these little girls and their parents went thru so much to have this done, to get to America to just do it. Now one of the twins died, and the other may have brain-damage from this. I ran the article when they first did the surgey because, I thought this was a good thing in today's medical world. I'm not saying its still not, but I wish it could of turned out better for this poor family...I home we all will remember them in our prays this week and hug our own children. Because we are So...Lucky, because our own never had to go thru this and they are still alive and well with us. This is a mother's pain feeling for another mother......

NBC-6 ; "A weight may soon be lifted off a Maryland woman charged with carrying a concealed weapon in an airport. It wasn't a gun or a knife. It was a weighted bookmark. Ms. Harrington was flying home from vacation last month when screeners at the Tampa, Florida, airport found her bookmark. It's an eight-and-a-half-inch leather strip with small lead weights at each end. Airport police said it resembled a weighted weapon that could be used to knock people unconscious. So the 52-year-old special education teacher was handcuffed, put into a police car, and charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
This weapon thing has gotten really out of control...What next we will all be made to walk NAKED on to planes and get our personal items on the other end when we land? Actor Jailed for helping Lobsters

NBC-6; "Edward Furlong tried to free some lobsters and landed in jail instead. Furlong was arrested on a charge of being drunk in public in Florence, Kentucky. He spent about an hour and a-half in jail before he got out. Furlong is accused of trying to take some lobsters out of a tank at a grocery store."

LOL - Come-maybe he just wanted a pet and he thought they were cute..

Court Rules Vomiting Is A Private Matter

The high court says a police officer went too far when he walked in on a young woman while she was vomiting into the toilet during a loud house party. The 6-1 decision Tuesday said the unconstitutional intrusion into the privy means evidence that Ms. Smith had been drinking illegally, she was only 18 at the time, could not be used to prosecute her. Merely hearing someone vomiting behind a closed door was not sufficient reason for Dillon Police Officer to open the door, the court said. The case arose from a complaint about a loud party at a Dillon apartment in. A party guest allowed officers to enter the apartment. When the Police-officer heard someone vomiting in the bathroom, he opened the bathroom door without knocking or asking permission and found Smith vomiting in the toilet. She was convicted of underage drinking and given a deferred sentence. On appeal, she argued the search of the bathroom was unconstitutional and evidence obtained by the officer could not be used against her. The Supreme Court agreed. Since the apartment owner never objected to the officers' presence, no one at the party could have expected privacy in the "common areas" of the apartment, the court said. But the same is not true for the bathroom, it said."

'Secrets' Santa Claus Perplex

washingtonpost.com; "A former dictator's cocktail preferences and a facetious plot against Santa Claus were classified by the government to prevent public disclosure. Also stamped "secret" for six years was a study concluding that 40 percent of Army chemical warfare masks leaked. These, as well as other examples of classification were cited last week by members of Congress and witnesses at a House subcommittee hearing into the Sept. 11 commission's conclusion that secrecy is undermining efforts to thwart terrorists.
Some classifications were made in error or to save face. The CIA deleted the amount Iraqi agents paid for aluminum tubes from Page 96 of a Senate report on prewar intelligence. The report quoted the CIA as concluding that "their willingness to pay such costs suggests the tubes are intended for a special project of national interest." That price turned out to be not so high. On Page 105 of the same Senate report, the same security reviewers let the CIA's figure -- as much as $17.50 each -- be printed along with other estimates that the Iraqis paid as little as $10 apiece. "There are too many secrets" and maybe too many secret-makers, said Rep. Christopher Shays (R-Conn.), chairman of the House Government Reform Committee's national security panel. There are 3,978 officials who can stamp a document "top secret," "secret" or "confidential" under multiple sets of complex rules. No one knows how much is classified, he said, and the system "often does not distinguish between the critically important and comically irrelevant." The problem is growing, said J. William Leonard, director of the National Archives' Information Security Oversight Office, which monitors federal practices. Officials decided to classify documents 8 percent more often in 2003 than in 2002. Total classification decisions -- including upgrading or downgrading -- reached 14 million. "The tone is set at the top," Shays said. "This administration believes the less known, the better," added the Connecticut Republican, noting sadly he was speaking of a GOP administration. "I believe the more known, the better." The panels ranking Democrat, Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich of Ohio, noted that former President Bill Clinton directed that in cases of doubt, the lowest or no classification be used. But in 2003, President Bush ordered officials to use the more restrictive level. Steven Aftergood, director of the Federation of American Scientists' project on secrecy, said some classification was designed to conceal illegality or avoid embarrassment, even though that is forbidden.Aftergood cited the "secret" stamp on Army Maj. Gen. Antonio M. Taguba's report of "numerous incidents of sadistic, blatant and wanton criminal abuses" inflicted on Iraqi inmates at the Abu Ghraib prison."

You know the more I read about Bush, I'm beginning to wonder why this was all kept hidden for so long, And why someone is finally finding these lost files and bringing them out? I am at the point after dealing with all the Bull-Crappy from these two guys I'm beginning to wonder if they should just LET...US MOTHERS run this damn counrty....Hell... We multi-task intire countries alone just within our homes, with out families. Leonard, the Archives official, said another obstacle to sharing anti-terrorist data as the Sept. 11 commission envisioned was that federal law divides the authority for writing the rules that govern secrets. The CIA director has authority to protect intelligence sources and methods, the Energy Department has power to write regulations to shield nuclear secrets, the Pentagon has control over classifying NATO data and the National Security Agency can define eavesdropping communications secrets. "All these variations have nuances that impede cooperation," Leonard said. Aftergood, who is fighting in court to declassify the overall budget for intelligence agencies, argued that declassifying that total "could break the logjam" of overclassification. That was also recommended by the Sept. 11 commission. Leonard said a 2000 law created a public interest declassification board to recommend release of secrets in important cases, but the president and Congress never appointed members. Despite the fact that it was Japan which had attacked the U.S., Bush would have argued that Spain was the real threat to world security.Bush would have noted that Spain possessed "weapons of mass destruction" and that the Spanish government had tortured, murdered and bombed its citizens. An attack on Spain would have distracted the voters from the damage Bush's policies were doing to the country while showing that he was taking forceful, action against a rogue state. The fact that Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy and Imperialist Japan were left free to wage war on the rest of the world would have been ignored, thanks to a barrage of publicity about how Bush was a strong, forceful leader who was smoking the terrorists out of their holes in Spain. If you think this is an absurd analogy consider this: It was Saudi Arabia and Pakistan that financed and supported Osama bin Laden, and it was Saudi Arabia which provided 15 of the 19 hijackers, yet Bush has not dealt with those sponsors of terrorism. But then, Bush's father and Dick Cheney have benefited financially from Saudi Arabia, so one must not kill the goose that lays the golden eggs.
